A Little Treat

Alyssa went to New York for vacation last week.  I gave her some money and asked her to go into the new New York Laduree and bring us home some Laduree macaroons.
If you've never had a macaroon, the are delicious.  Crisp at first and then soft and yummy.  They come in different flavors.  I love the chocolate and pistachio.  The salted carmel and coffee flavors were a big hit.
They are about an inch and a half wide.  Just a bite or two.

Just to keep it real, I gave her $75.00 thinking she would be able to bring back a wide variety of tasty treats.  I was shocked when she handed me this tiny box.  Twenty-four tiny cookies, $3.00 each.  They were gone before you could blink an eye!

Those aren't the macaroons I envisioned when you told me about them. These are imposters, but very pretty.

Mmmmmmm Lauderee. SO delicious. I knew of other macarons as well before a few years ago when I learned of teh french macarons. I was kicking myself because I'd never had one (didn't think they looked good) so i waited until my last day in Paris to try one. I DIED when I had that first bite. SO DELISH! I was so happy to see a Lauderee a CDG airport so I could get a few more. The best news is, they put that Lauderee in New York and it's only 6 or 7 blocks from my office. :)

Truly gorgeous macaroons, just like the ones I bought in Paris on my last trip!
Luckily I don't have to go that far for my macaron fix, the patisserie n my local town has wonderful ones, too.
