Lisbon, Portugal

Some very good friends of ours have a couple of summer places in Portugal. They offered us our choice for a summer vacation, a week in an apartment on the beach or the villa in the country. We always like to end our vacations with some down time at the beach, so we chose the apartment. We are traveling with young adults, so it will help to keep them busy.

The apartment in on the Lisbon Coast, so we will lay on the beach in the morning and sightsee in the afternoon. This is a combination we love. I've heard so many great things about Lisbon, I'm very excited to go.

Lisbon has a style of architecture of its very own, its called Manueline. The above is an example.

We will visit the Pena Palace.

We will see the Memorial of the Discoveries.

And take these little street cars and the funicular up the steep streets. I can't wait. This will be the second half of a two week trip. The first half will be spent in Paris. We have rented a cute little apartment and plan on seeing it all, including Disneyland Paris! I have been to Paris 3 times, but the longest amount of time was 3 days. I'm looking forward to not having to rush.
