This was one of the best resorts we have ever stayed at. It was quiet, clean, beautiful and like home. We had a three bedroom unit with a full kitchen. We spent about $300 on groceries for the week and we ate like kings using all our extra money to do fun things. We spent more on the three days we were in Orlando, eating at restaurants and going to amusement parks than we did in our week in the Keys, and we did some pretty fun things.
Each unit had four balconies, one upstairs off the Master bedroom, one of guest room, one in front and one in the back downstairs. They were so enjoyable, a nice place to take a drink and catch up on your reading.
The keys are not known for their beaches, there aren't any practically, so it was nice to have our own private beach. The water was shallow for quite a ways before it got deep. The kids had a great time snorkeling and just being in the warm water.
There is a place to rent waverunners, kayaks, boats and paddle boards. The resort is on the gulf side of the island so we got great sunsets every night.
These sunset pics are not enhanced. The sunset was that fabulous! Only two nights we had gray skies and lots of cloud cover, but it still managed to look great.
The kids enjoyed volleyball and swimming. Marathon is about 2 1/2 hours south of Miami and 1 hour north of Key West. It is a big key with lots of stores and restaurants, no boutique shopping though, just the basics.
We saw Iguanas of various sizes every day, this being the biggest one I saw.
We went snorkeling, to the Everglades and to Key West based from this resort. The kids rented waverunners one day and had so much fun.
We had such a wonderful time and I would recommend this resort to everyone. So fun and relaxing!
Cheers!
