Fun Night at the Improv!!!

Jon Pinette

Last night my handsome husband and I went to the Brea Improv to see Jon Pinette.  He was hysterical!!!  He made us laugh with good old fashioned CLEAN humor!  What a treat!!!  The handsome husband heard him on the 5 oclock funnies and insisted we go.  I'm so glad he did, it was sooo funny.  It was Sunday night, we were tired but boy am I glad we went.  Here is a tip for going to the Improv:  Go in a group of at least four.  We went by ourselves and they make you sit with people you don't know in tables of four.  Just a little awkward.

Taking a Little Trip!

Savannah, Georgia
I AM SOOOO EXCITED!!!!  I'm taking a trip in June with two of my best girlfriends to Savannah and Charleston!  EEEEE!  I can hardly believe it.  I've never been to the south (except Florida, does that count?) and I'm totally looking forward to seeing all the historical sights, eating at Paula Dean's restaurant and shopping!
Charleston, South Carolina
We will be doing the usual touristy stuff and we only have a few days in each place, but I would like to ask all the Southern Ladies out there; what should we do?  What is your favorite thing to do or place to shop?  Where is the hidden gem that no one really knows about that you would like to share with three excited California ladies?  We would be so grateful for a little Southern Hospitality!!!

I saw some movies...

I woke up early on Sat. morning and turned on the T.V and this movie was just starting so I thought I would give it a go.  I loved it!!!  Very cute, romantic comedy.  No nudity, bad words or awkward situations.  I recommend it.  It made me laugh out loud several times!
As these movies go, this one was alright!  It had some adult language, but no nudity.  I thought it was good.  It was a nice surprise compared to what I was expecting.

New Hair Color!

I've gone darker!  I know you are suppose to go light in the summer and dark in the winter, but I needed a change!!!  Next thing - teeth whitened, too much coffee in the morning.

Tablescape Thursday- Pink and Green

Please join Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for more tablescapes!

This table is didn't photograph as well as I had hope.  You can see the contrasts a lot more in person.  The pink hydrangeas are so beautiful.  Who could resist them at the store.  They come in such great colors too.  They will be a one of the star flowers at Alyssa's wedding, only in green and white.
I used a soup toureen, given to me by my Uncle Rod and Aunt Marjorie, to hold the flowers.  I then wrapped a napkin around the edges and added a string of green beaded garland.

After long last, I broke out my Eternal Beau dishes by Johnson Brothers.  My very first set of dishes.  They are so sweet and delicate to me.  As usual, I am using my chargers from Home Goods.  They are becoming a staple on my table.  I think I've used them on every table since I got them a month ago.  I used pink and green napkins to help achieve the color balance I was going for.  The napkin rings are from Home Goods.  They came in a set of four with four napkins.  I used two on this napkin set.
So pretty and delicate yet it makes a big impact.

I got these salt shakers when we lived in London (we bought the china from Selfridges when we lived in London in 1983).  I have quite a few pieces that go with the set.  Now people like to mix things up more.  Back then, it was more matchy matchy!
I got these pretty pink candle votives at Home Goods.  Only 2.99 each!  I felt like it was stealing!  I kept thinking I was going to get to the cashier and she was going to say, "Oh, these rang up as $10.00 ea".  I felt like the lady on the IKEA commercial where she buys a bunch of stuff and the price is so low, she runs out of the store and yells for her husband to start the car so she can get away before they realize they made a mistake!!!

The Hills Are Alive With.... Spring Flowers!

My friend Marlene called me this morning to let me know that her and Tina were going for a hike in the canyon and did I want to go?  Yes, Yes, Yes I wanted to go.  So we loaded all the dogs (4 total) and headed out.
Our friend Chris met us there. Pictured are Tina, Chris and Marlene.
Everything was in full bloom along the trail.  It was amazing!  Flowers everywhere you looked.  Ones I've never seen before in the wild too. Butterflies flitting and bobbing, ladybugs were everywhere!  Unfortunately, so were the Gnats!!!

You would never know that a fire totally devastated this area 6 months ago.  It was completely black!

Shadow never strays far from me.  Daisy will run up ahead and wait, but as soon as she sees me, she is off again.  It is funny how they are like children and will not go far from you.

It was such a lovely morning, I hope you enjoyed the hike!

Beautiful Day!

Today was such a beautiful day! My friend Annette took a much needed vacation day and we made a little daycation out of it.  First we went to Roger's Gardens and ooo'd and ahh'd over all their pretty things and usual plants.  Then we headed down to Corona Del Mar.  We walked along Ocean Ave and looked at stunning homes on one side and fabulous ocean views on the other!  Newport Harbor is pictured above.
Everyones gardens looked awesome!  Lots of blooms and in a month or so, there will be a riot of roses everywhere you look!  Only buds today, though.

I really liked this modern house.  Usually, not my look at all, but it just seemed to belong there and it was really interesting to look at.

This little breezeway, patio was open so we took a little peak.  Loved all the details on this house.
