Tablescape Thursday- Pink and Green

Please join Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for more tablescapes!

This table is didn't photograph as well as I had hope.  You can see the contrasts a lot more in person.  The pink hydrangeas are so beautiful.  Who could resist them at the store.  They come in such great colors too.  They will be a one of the star flowers at Alyssa's wedding, only in green and white.
I used a soup toureen, given to me by my Uncle Rod and Aunt Marjorie, to hold the flowers.  I then wrapped a napkin around the edges and added a string of green beaded garland.

After long last, I broke out my Eternal Beau dishes by Johnson Brothers.  My very first set of dishes.  They are so sweet and delicate to me.  As usual, I am using my chargers from Home Goods.  They are becoming a staple on my table.  I think I've used them on every table since I got them a month ago.  I used pink and green napkins to help achieve the color balance I was going for.  The napkin rings are from Home Goods.  They came in a set of four with four napkins.  I used two on this napkin set.
So pretty and delicate yet it makes a big impact.

I got these salt shakers when we lived in London (we bought the china from Selfridges when we lived in London in 1983).  I have quite a few pieces that go with the set.  Now people like to mix things up more.  Back then, it was more matchy matchy!
I got these pretty pink candle votives at Home Goods.  Only 2.99 each!  I felt like it was stealing!  I kept thinking I was going to get to the cashier and she was going to say, "Oh, these rang up as $10.00 ea".  I felt like the lady on the IKEA commercial where she buys a bunch of stuff and the price is so low, she runs out of the store and yells for her husband to start the car so she can get away before they realize they made a mistake!!!

Lovely table. I find it difficult to photograph white, then with all that lovely sun that streams into my diningroom I really must pick the right time of day. Oh bother!
As my friend Winnie the Pooh would say.
I think you did a fine job of it. Thanks for stopping by~ ~Ahrisha~ ~

Janie,

I am just making my rounds, been sooo busy!

Your tablescape is stunning, pink and green, mmmmm! And Hydrangeas are one of my favorites. I think your pictures turned out really well, I am having problems learning how to use my flash correctly, so I may only take photos in the day!! Your dining room is beautiful also.

I really do like your china. I have always loved delicate flowers and a feminine look. Is this your wedding china? I know it is hard to use good china for more than special occasions and the concensus seems to be we shouldn't "save" things but enjoy them now, but I was heartbroken when I broke a piece of my perfect set of 12 good china so I just don't like to risk it.

I love how you used 2 napkins and 2 rings~very clever, can I steal the idea??!

Thanks for the tip on TJ Maxx, etc. being cousins! And I have yet to be to a Homegoods but found that there is one about 15 miles from me so I may go soon. Seeing your votives and the price has me motivated!!

Thanks!!

xoxo
Janie
P.S. Like the new "do"! Very flattering! :-)
