Tablescape Thursday - Damask Bling

For more beautiful tablescapes, please join Susan over at Between Naps on the Porch!
Welcome to my first sparkly table!  I've got some crystal and those "bling" candlesticks.  I went to zgallerie to buy the "bling" napkin rings and walked out with candlesticks.  I had to order the napkins rings, they won't be in until April.  I considered waiting to set this table until then, but just couldn't wait!  Dishes and tablecloth are from T.J. Maxx.  I got the dishes back in December and found the tablecloth a couple of months later all wadded up in a bin.
I've had the black plates forever, bought them at Target.  Of course, you'll recognize the HomeGoods chargers (I've used them three weeks in a row!)
The white roses are so pretty.  I really enjoyed the pink ones I had last week and thought I would like to enjoy some more flowers this week.  I really weak in the arranging department, but they hold their own!
These champagne glasses are from Princess House.  I haven't heard that name since I was a teenager.  My mom had a big party and she gave me 4 champagne glasses and 4 drinking glasses.  She just tucked them away for me until I got married and then gave them to me.  Is Princess House still around?  In this world of home parties, I haven't been invited to one in 20 years.  The crystal iced tea glasses are from Godinger.  I wish they were Waterford!  Waterford is on my list, especially since they are out of business now.  I'm still looking at what pattern I would like.  In my neighborhood, there are not a lot of stores that carry it.  I need to see them all in person, so I can decide.
Love these crystal flower candle holders.  I didn't put any candles in them and they still look great.  (I only have three sets of two candles: green, white and sparkly green/white combo).  I really need to buy some more.
I went back and forth between white napkins and the blue napkins.  I finally decided on the blue to give it a little kick.  Plus it is my current favorite color.
Love these both lit and unlit (is that a word?).  In the sunshine they sparkle like mad!!! They throw off rainbow prisms all over the room!  I've been wanting this "bling" collection from zgallerie for about a year.  They have many more things that go with these.  I wish they made three sizes though, instead of just two.

Little birdie is building a nest!

If you look closely at the left window of the birdhouse, you will see the tail of a little sparrow that is building a nest inside my birdhouse!!!!  At first I was really excited! I ran and got my camera and tried to take pictures out my window.  Very hard to do, she is a fast little bugger!  I watched her flit all around the back yard gathering materials to build her nest.  What a hard little worker she is.  Back and forth, back and forth, gathering, gathering, gathering.  Oh, how sweet!  Until it dawned on me that she is sooo close to the table.  She will freak out if we try to sit at it.  And what about when I water?  I always take the hose right by there, she's not gonna like it!  And when the babie birds hatch, what a mess!  That birdhouse has been in my backyard for 5 years and no bird has given it a second look!
Here she is on top of the Australian moss to the left of the birdhouse.  EEEOOOWWW, what are we in for???

Dreaming

I am dreaming of some new lighting in my kitchen nook and family room.  These at first seemed a little too formal or classy to put in such an area.  But, after watching many episodes of Candice Olson's Divine Design (my absolute favorite designer), I have decided that these chandeliers would fit nicely.

Okay, brace yourself: this is what I currently have
                                                                         Yuck!!!

Dancing With The Stars

Dancing with the Stars is one of my favorite shows.  I love it!  Gilles Martini was awesome to watch last night (and not to mention easy on the eyes!).  I think he is a natural and could be in the finals.  Cheryl kind of bugs me, but I know all the men think she is sooo sexy.
Melissa Rycroft is my other pick for the finals.  She only had forty-eight hours to train and she was awesome!!!  I guess she has some ballet training - good for her.  I felt so bad for her because they kept showing the bachelor breaking up with her the Monday before.  She was a good sport about it and everyone is on her side. I also really like Tony.  Finally, he is getting a partner that has a chance!
Our favorite TV shows that we (my hubby and me) look forward to every week are:
Dancing with the Stars and So you think you can dance (when it is on)
Amazing Race
House
Life
House Hunters International (I can afford a Paris apartment or a Tuscan farm house for retirement!!! Bob will probably want somewhere with snow- NO, NO, NO - I hate the snow)
Reaper and Supernatural are good too, and of course, Ugly Betty.  I love, love, love that show!

Kids are sick!

Delaney and Katie are sick!  Delaney has had mono for about a month and every time we think she is getting better, she comes up with a new symptom!  UUUUHHHGGG!  She has missed so much school and had to quit her club volleyball team. (When you have mono, it causes your spleen to enlarge and it can burst when you exercise). Last night pounding headache and couldn't sleep, I have a call into the doctor today.

Every time Katie gets a cold, she gets a horrible sinus infection.  She was complaining that her jar hurt this time and low and behold, when she went to the doctor, he said she had TMJ!  What!  She has an appointment with a specialist this afternoon.

Please keep them in your prayers.

What is Katie up to?

Delaney went down to San Diego to visit Katie for the weekend.  They went to a Glo Party (there was a blacklight involved).  Here Katie is with her friends Lynn and Jenna.  Not sure who the boy is, but I would say he is lucky to have his picture taken with these girls!!!  These girls will be coming to our house this weekend and will be visiting Disneyland.

Tablescape Thursday-Simple Outdoor Lunch

For more beautiful tablescapes, visit Susan over at "Between Naps On the Porch"
We had a beautiful weekend here in So. Cal (sorry all my friends from back east) it was 75 and just perfect for sitting in the back yard.  Signs of spring are everywhere.  As I was watching the news, they said we would be having rain by Wed.  I decided to take advantage of the beautiful day and set the table outside on the patio.  The little cloth on the table is a remnant from JoAnns.

The dish ensemble is from HomeGoods.  They had these cute little nests for spring, so I picked up a few.

We had chicken salad sandwiches, chips, fruit and homemade chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. MMM good.
But the best part of this tablescape is that my two best friends could share it with me!!  Cynthia and Annette joined me for lunch today and it just went by too fast!!
