check it out - In the local newspaper

The girl’s volleyball team from Trabuco Hills High School has set a torrid pace during the early season.

The team is currently ranked in the Top 10 of Division 1-A and is leading the Sea View League.  Earlier this month they won the San Luis Obispo Volleyball Tournament and yesterday defeated a tough Aliso Viejo team in four sets, 3-1.

The girls rolled over five teams in the SLO tourney: Oxnard, Morro Bay, Gilroy, San Luis Obispo, and Hanford.  The following weekend they finished strong in the Dave Mohs Tournament.  They defeated Norco 2-0, Villa Park 2-1, and Notre Dame Academy 2-0, before losing to Sante Fe and Simi Valley, both in split 2-1 contests.

In a cross-town rivalry last week, the MV Diablos edged the MV Mustangs in four sets.  After Trabuco Hills won the first set 25-22, the Diablos regrouped to prevail in the following sets, 25-22, 25-20, and 25-21.  Kaela Goodman led MVHS with 22 kills while Brooke Marino had 45 assists. [Game photos by Vivian Frerichs]

The Mustangs are leading the Sea View League with an 11-4-1 record compared to second place El Toro at 5-3-0.  Trabuco girls also rank high in individual stats.  In league hitting percentage Sophia Etka (50%), Shay McIntyre (40.6%) and Kelsie Brennan (36.3%) are 2nd, 4th and 5th.  In kills per game Delaney Gore (3.2), Ashley Wall (2.5) and Mandi Andre (2.3) are 2nd, 4th and 5th.  In average assists per game Sophia Etka (8.3) and Dani Franks (4.4) are 2nd and 4th.  In service aces per game Trabuco Hills girls are 1st through 4th with Mandi Andre (.8), Shay Mcintyre (.5), Kelsie Brennan (.5) and Ashley Wall (.4).

Great pictures! My daughter, Erin, plays volleyball. She's made her first comp team last year and had a lot of fun learning to set. Keep blogging the volleyball games.

Thanks! Cynthia's cousin, Jennifer

Yes, really great action shots of Delaney and the girls. Can you make the text brighter and bolder though so I can read it? It's very faint and ghostly right now.
