Amusing

Since I've been sick for the past three weeks, I haven't posted anything and people are wondering where I am. I've just begun my antibiotics and hopefully will be feeling better soon.  So, for something different, here is a little tidbit I wrote awhile ago.

Since I've been home I've thought of a couple of "projects" that need to
be done at home.  One was installing a new "shower rod" in the girls
bathroom.  I bought it two weeks ago and Bob was showing no signs of
putting it up.  So I took on the task!
It is one of those that bend out in the middle.  Like they have in
hotels.  It looks really easy to put up, there are only 5 parts.
This should only take a few minutes to put up.

First I had to put up the wall mountings.  No problem, I drilled the
holes and put in the screws.  I then put on the face plate. Next add the
rod holder piece.  Hmm, how does it keep from slipping out.  Oh, I must
have to tighten this little screw that is covered up by the face place I
just put over the wall mount.  I take it off and tighten the screw.  But
then I cant get the face plate back on over the rod holder.  Oh, I have
to put the face plate on loosely, insert the rod holder, then tighten
the screw and replace the face plate.  Great!  I can do that.  Working
up a bit of a sweat now.  I didn't know that handywork was also
exercise.  I can now add at least two points into my daily food count
for weight watchers as I have really been EXERTING myself.  Whoo - done!
Now I just have to insert the shower rod.  No problem.

Oh darn! the rod was just a smidge to long!  AAAHHH!  So, I bent it a
little,  then the round piece that fits into the other round piece was
no longer round and wouldn't go in.  So I had to re-round the no longer
round piece.  Still a little too long, so I bent it in the
middle just a little.  This task in accomplished by putting one end
of the shower rod into my chest as I lean on the rod.  I hope the rod
doesn't slip and impale me in the chest.  Can the dogs call 911?
Yeah, now it fits.  BUT... the curtain hangs right next to the
toilet!  Any one sitting on the toilet will be molested by the
curtain.  Always thinking, I moved the shower curtain to the other end
of the bathtub.  YEA! It looks great!

Good thing I took a few "minutes" to put up the shower curtain!

Doing home projects are definitely a workout! My abs and arms got so sore from painting my room. Same thing when I was screwing in some drape rods into some really hard wood! (I don't have a drill but need one!!)
