2013-2014 Broadway Series

I've renewed my Broadway subscription with my friend Marie again this year.  This will be our 5th year as season ticket holders.  We have such a great time getting dinner and then seeing the show.  This year I'm looking forward to:

Evita
The Wizard of Oz

 The Book of Mormon
Really looking forward to seeing this.  I hear it is hysterical!
Jersey Boys
This will be my 5th time seeing Jersey Boys (only to be beat out by Wicked, which I've seen 6 times).  I love the music and the story.  It's a fantastic show.
 Ghost
Not too excited about this, there have been so many cheezy jokes made of the pottery scene that I just cringe when I think of this movie.  I did like the movie when it first came out, so maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.
Once
Never heard of this until recently when my friend, Rachel, posted about a surprise ending.
Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
I heard this was really funny.  It was huge the last time I was in London (2010).
 Chicago
I'm super excited about this one.  I loved the movie, but I have never seen the play.

 I Love Lucy
I've never heard of this one either, but I'm thinking it will be funny.

Also playing, but I didn't get tickets for, is:
Beauty and the Beast (saw this last year)
Mamma Mia! (this one too)

It's a great season lineup and when you buy tickets in the season ticket package, you get a great discount.  This is a fun night out with friends and/or your spouse.  I'll probably see book of Mormon with the Handsome Husband too.

I am so interested to hear what you think of some of these shows. My mom and I saw Evita last year. We both really enjoyed it, but have decided if you see a movie first, the Broadway show is somewhat of a let down. Even though it's so amazing seeing something live, you just can't do some things live like they can do with all the technology of a movie. I LOVED both movies Evita and Chicago, and was a little let down by the shows (but both still enjoyable.)
Love love loved Once!!! I had heard nothing but raves from my friends here, and it won so many Tonys. It was one I had to see before I left. Hopefully I didn't spoil anything for you. It's not exactly a surprise, just something different than I expected. We can discuss after you see it!
I would LOVE to see I Love Lucy! I haven't heard anything about the Broadway show (not sure that it's even out here?) but I do love her!
Lastly, will be so interested to hear what you think of BofM. I didn't see it. I have heard it's hilarious also and that the music is fantastic. One of my high school friends saw it and then we went to brunch and she kept apologizing to me for loving it so much, which of course was so unnecessary! I just personally have no interest, after reading some of the lyrics from some of the musical numbers. I'm not offended as a Mormon, I'm offended as a Christian. I don't consider myself uptight, and will be the first to laugh at myself, but I just think some things are sacred and not to be made light of. All that said, like I said, I didn't see it so can't make too many assumptions, which is why I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
I also LOVE Jersey Boys. My all time favorite show!!
Sorry for the long comment!
