Last night, my girlfriend Marie and I, went to see Grease at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. It was sooo good! The time just whizzed by. I had heard that Taylor Hicks (the American Idol winner) was in the production. It opens and I don't see him as any of the "Thunderbirds" (Danny, Kinnicki etc.). Bummer, I thought, he must not be in it tonight. We really enjoyed the music, singing, dancing and the story. Then Beauty School Dropout starts and the ice cream cone (different from the movie) opens and there is Taylor Hicks! All that hype, star billing and he is on stage for 3 or 4 minutes! He did a great job, but I would hate to have all that hype and only be on stage for such a short time!

Oh, i'm so glad you enjoyed your performance. i couldn't stand the one on Broadway! I could not get into the characters and was wishing for the "originals" from 78 when I first saw it at the theaters.
I can't believe it. You know, during the ads I keep looking for him cuz they do play it up like he's the main Travolta character. I just figure he died his hair dark and I couldn't pick him out because of that. No wonder. He's not in the greesed lightening scene they keep playing. That's a bummer dude.
I'm glad you had fun! I haven't been to a play in a long time but my all time favorite is 42nd Street. The costumes, dancing, singing...oh yeah, there is a story too!!

Oh, the Frankie Avalon part. Isn't the music just great?
My daughter and I love going to plays and musicals. We saw "Wicked" when it was here in Arizona and we just loved every minute and didn't want it to end! She wants to see Grease when it comes our way... it should be coming our way soon since you are in Cali.
