Thanksgiving Dinner

On Thanksgiving, we were guests at the Ricks' home for dinner. Barbara set a beautiful table and she made these gorgeous flower arrangements. Notice that they are in gourds and surrounded by nuts. This brought up a discussion about how we all used to get nuts in our stockings when we were little. My kids could not believe this. Why? Why would you get nuts in your stocking? We added that if we were really lucky, we would get an orange too. "Really", said Alyssa, "and did you have to walk a mile uphill in the snow to get to school?"

Thanks for sharing your wonderful Thanksgiving dinner Janie. That Alyssa is too too funny. I guess our generation is somewhat removed from the kids of today. I love the floral centerpiece. Very creative.
