Today we lost our little black dog, Shadow, to kidney failure. It has been a painful week. He was the best little dog. We love him so much and we will miss him terribly. He was pure JOY.
If you howled like a dog, he would howl with you,
He hated crows. He would bark and huff and puff if they flew over our airspace.
He was smart and did many tricks. He would chase bunnies, but never really wanted to catch them. I've seen him chase a bunny down and ease up just when he would have caught them. He loved to go for walks and rides in the car.
He was super fuzzy, but when he got his hair cut, we called him lambchop, because he looked like a little lamb.
He followed me everywhere, living up to his name.
Rest in peace, Shadow, we will see you in heaven.

:( Janie I am so sorry! That just breaks my heart. Losing a pet is the saddest. While I was reading this I was remembering when our family dog Taffy died while I was working at TieCare. She had lived a very full life (16 spoiled years) but was such a good dog and it was still sad. I remember you tearing up when I was telling you about it and I thought that was so sweet because you'd never even met her.
So sorry to hear about Shadow. I love that howling picture, so sweet, cute, and funny.
I'm so sorry, Janie. It must be a very hard time for you. Our first family dog was a black shepherd named Shadow. He followed me everywhere or was at my feet. It took a long time to find another dog that we could love that much. I know your pup lived a long good life.

It sux when our little furry friends leave us - They bring such joy each day - just so happy to be in our presence and never demanding or mean to us. You all gave him the best life and in return he gave you his. Little Shadow will be missed around the hood very much... xoxo
Oh, Janie! I'm so sorry to hear about your dear little Shadow! My heart breaks for you as I know how it feels to loose a beloved pet. Shadow was such a pretty dog and I know you have lots of sweet memories of your time with him. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.
