Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!  For the first time in 25 years, we did not gather with the Gore clan.  I missed them all but enjoyed my family.  So much less stress when cooking for 6 compared to 20.  Next year, I'll go ahead right now, and volunteer for it to be at our house.  One of the joys of the holidays is decorating.  I always decorate and try to pick up something every year to add to the festivities.  I have to say, I think I'm about done collecting.  My house is full. My favorite store for buying holiday decorations is HomeGoods.  They have the best stuff.  I can barely contain myself in there.

Bob doesn't cook as much as he used to, but he can always be counted on to cook the big dinners.  He is such a great cook and he cooks by taste, which I cannot do.  He can taste something and decide it needs more whatever.  Not me!  I'm a follow the recipe kind of girl.

As usual, I set up a buffet.  Everyone help yourselves.  The best way to go I think.
The buffet table.  I tried to put this picture before the buffet, but it wouldn't go, so the pictures are a little out of order.  On the menu: turkey and gravy, dressing, mashed potatoes, corn casserole, cranberry sauce, rolls, salad, and yams.  We missed Grandma Katies fruit salad, Cindy's cranberry sauce and Sharons green beans.  You're all on the hook to bring those favorites next year.
At the table.

Greg and Alyssa on leg one of their Thanksgiving dinner tour.  Next they were going to Greg's parents for a birthday dinner for Floyd (Greg's dad) and then tomorrow, Thanksgiving dinner with his family.  I remember those days when you had to spread yourselves between two families on the holidays.
A familiar scene after dinner.  Boy, I was so tired, I totally could have taken a nap.  Just about everyone did.  Thankfully, we bought that extra couch and now there is room for everyone to relax.

I am thankful for so many things.  I do not take anything for granted.  I am not only thankful, but grateful.  I don't need a holiday once a year for me to count my blessing, I do it everyday!

Looks really pretty Janie. As usual, you make an event special. My favorite pic though is the one with Bob in the recliner with Daisy all over his lap. That's too funny.

MMMM. I could practically taste my family's Thanksgiving dinner all over again.
We always do buffet style, definitely the easiest.
