Let Them Eat Cake

Our cake topper has arrived and it is gorgeous!!!  It is based on the one above.  It is shiny, sparkly and everyone exclaims OOOOHHHH! OMG!  It is sooo Beautiful when they see it.
Today we put down the deposit on Alyssa's wedding cake.  Everyone can look forward to Strawberry Lemonade cake from the award winning bakery:  Let Them Eat Cake.  Hereby known as LTEC. We picked quality over extreme decoration.  Let me tell you, this is the best cake you will ever have.  It might be pretty plain on the outside, but it is going to taste soooo good.  He is going to design a wedding cake for Alyssa and Greg based on the invitations and wedding stuff that we have already done.  The thing is, he has one price for just the cake and then you decide how many hours to be spent on decorating it.  He should be able to get a lot done in a couple of hours, right?  The master baker Chris and the other baker Margaret have won many times on the Food Network's cake challenges.  They even have their big $10,000 check hanging on the wall.  

Tasting cakes was a different experience everywhere we went.  At one shop, we were given some 2x2 squares of various cake flavors, with icings and fillings in little cups all on one plate.  We were then left alone to figure out what we had.  We didn't even know what was what and what went with what.  Our girl excused herself and went in the back and we just looked at each other thinking, "What the heck?"  We then listened to the girl next to us explain all the cakes and flavors to her couple and started tasting our cakes.  Needless to say, we didn't find the cake flavorful and thought the service was appalling and even though we could buy a cake for the half the price as at LTEC and we could get it as decorated as our wildest dreams would allow - No Way!!!  Customer service is very important and they lost the sale because theirs was so bad. At LTEC they baked whole mini cakes for us and gave us the full experience.  The cake was amazingly moist and flavorful.  He explained his whole process and what ingredients were used. He took his time with us and his partner took her time with us.  Yes, they were busy.  It was Saturday and they were making this huge cake (looked like something for the Oscars), but they still had time for us.
