Tablescape Thursday - Fushia and Green

Please join our hostess, Susan, for more beautiful and unique tablescapes at Between Naps on the porch.
Today, I've set this outdoor table with fushia and green. Odd color choices, I know. It is not even close to anything I had envisioned in my head. I took my cue from the centerpiece. This green pot is planted with this beautiful geranium. You wouldn't believe how hard it was to match these plates. The fushia and purple are unique colors and nothing I had came close to matching or complimenting.

I bought these melamine plates and bowls at Target for a cool $1.99 each. I bought them for Katie's college apartment. I felt so inspired by them. But once I got the silver charger and the bling napkin rings out, I hit a dead end. What now. Nothing I had went with them. All the colors I had were wrong. I then spied my green pot with the geranium.
Perfect. I already had the green napkins, so I was good there. I didn't have any kind of tablecloth or placemats to go on the table. I popped over to Joanne's and found this fabric for $2.00 a yard in the clearance bin. Bingo! I bought 1 5/8 yards for a square. It fit perfect on the table.

I added the green votive holders to the table, but they seemed kinda lost on there, so I put them on top of my crystal candlestick holders.

I used my etched glasses from Anthropology to finish the setting. I then sprinkled the table with green rose petals (bought in a box at Michaels, years ago).

Thanks for visiting, I hope you enjoyed the table.

Janie, your table is so attractive and unique. You don't see fushcia that often on a table and it is perfect with the green. Great job!

Great colour choices! Those plates are lovely but I can see what you mean about trying to match them. You were smart to think outside the box. Love the votive holders placed on the candlesticks!

I love the glasses from Anthropology. I need to stay out of that store as I spend way to much $$$ there on clothing and table finds. I scrolled back to see the wedding photos and what a lovely couple and Mother of the Bride or should I say new MIL:) I had no idea you were coming to Charleston and Savannah as I right in the middle here on Hilton Head in my summer beach house. If you come this way again let me know.

Hi Janie,
Love the color choices. For not having a vision ahead of time you sure pulled off a lovely, lovely table. I love these colors together and they look so pretty with your gorgeous yard in the background. Those melamine dishes are fun, did you get them this year? I am having a spa day for some friends and these would be great for around the pool.
Thanks for sharing and enjoy your day.

What a gorgeous geranium! I have never seen one like this. Please share the name...Your table is lovely!
Thank you for your kind comments. The blood lily is quite unusual...started from one bulb from my uncle. There is no evidence of the plant in the ground until the stem with the bud emerges. While blooming, the leaves finally shoot up. These remain for months...then disappear for the cycle to start all over again. This year I have 20+ blooms!!!
