Finally, I have been inspired to create another tablescape. My creativity has been waning these last few weeks. My trip to Roger's Gardens really inspired me and I wanted to do something with cream pumpkins. The picture above was taken by my friend Cynthia.

But, today when I arrived at Roger's, all the creamy pumpkins were gone! Apparently everyone was thinking the same as I was. So I grabbed what I thought were pumpkins with a green cast.

When I got home and started putting all the placemats etc. out, I found out they were more of a blue/gray hue.

I paired the blue/gray pumpkins with some smaller cream and green and for the center piece I used grass. I planted it in a creamy urn I already had. I used my gray velvet placemats, blue napkins and cream dishes, all from HomeGoods. I was so surprised that I was using BLUE, at the nursery I imagined GREEN.

EEK! Where did these guys come from? Must have left a door open or something!

I just thought I would spice it up a little for a Halloween idea. If I would have had time, I would have gone through more of my decorations to make it a bit more scary. The idea is there, I think you could really have fun with it.

Thanks for stopping by. Please check out other fabulous tablescapes at

Beautiful colors, Janie! I love the pumpkins, the colors are out of the ordinary. You put everything on the table all together very well and I like how you added the crows...Christine

I've never seen pumpkins that colour but I love them and love what you created for a 'scape using them! It is a more elegant fall look with the blues but great idea creating a Halloween look with the ravens! Versatile 'scape!

Your table has a very ethereal feeling to it & reminds me of the Edgar Allen Poe poem "The Raven Speaks No More".
The colors are so soft & appealing...beautifully done!

Love the pumpkins... and your little feathered guests! A very nice, and inspiring tablescape! ~tina
It's beautiful. I actually like it better without the scary touches. It seems very sureal. A great way to segway from summer to fall. A very creative fall tablescape.

I love this look, the pumpkins give a rather 'haunting' look (in a good way, kinda like seeing mist over the moores in England). It's a beautiful setting.
Gorgeous! So much prettier than orange, and so delicate with the white plates...just beautiful!

Sarah, thanks for the compliment on my photo. Janie, great job on the tablescape. Love the color scheme which really ties in with the inspiration photo, love the grass, and love the way the shape of the cream urns mimic the form of the pumpkins curves. It was worth the wait for you to be re-inspired.
