Tablescape Thursday

Please head on over to "Between Naps on the Porch" for more Tablescapes.
This table was inspired by Julio over at Beaux Mondes Design.
I love the calming colors of green and cream.  I could not take my eyes off his table.  I would call this the poor man's version of Julios table.  His table had beautiful crystal and special china.   My dishes are everyday. I had gold chargers at first because I could only find two cream chargers, but my obsession paid off and I was able to find more.

I'd like to draw your attention to the yellow/amber colored claret glasses.  These glasses were given to my mother when I was a kid by her good friend that she grew up with.  My dad had done some work on their car and as a thank you they gave my mom these etched claret glasses and a matching decanter.  My mom always thought that her friend's husband was a little shady and swears that these must have "fallen off the back of a truck" (wink, wink) .  I added these glasses when I was just about done taking pictures because I totally forgot that I had them!

I found this gazing ball at Homegoods.  It is totally flat on the bottom, so it can sit directly on the table.  I bought it the day I saw it in the first part of Dec.  I haven't seen any since.  I also got the lily pad candle holders there for a steal, $3.00 ea.

The topiaries are from my buffet, I originally got them at Ballard designs.  I didn't like the clay pots they came in, so I took them out and put them in these urns I got at Roger's Gardens.  The table cloth is from "The Painted Cottage".  I love this line.  I looked it up on the internet and guess what?  Home Goods owns this line.  They make great tableclothes and napkins.
I got these succulent looking votive candles from Roger's too.  I love them and I am loath to light them because they don't have them anymore and these are all I have.
The silver is an heirloom.  I love it and am honored to have it.  All the plates are from HomeGoods.  I had to travel to two different stores to find a set of 8 chargers.  I hope you enjoyed the table!

I love the story that goes along with your tablescape. (wink wink)
I also love the crystal ball. That would have been fun to have on my table at my Chinese New Year's luncheon. Your entire room glows with romance. Lovin' it.

Hi Janie...

I just came from Susan's Tablescape Thursday...this is my first time to visit your blog...so very nice to meet you!

You know, I drooled (oops...did I say that?...hehe!) all over Julio's beautiful Botanical table a few days ago...and I must say that yours is every bit as pretty!!! I love your "gazing ball" centerpiece and the topiaries are so grand...they really make a statement!!! After seeing the close-up of the pretty white lilly pad candleholders...I fell in love with them too! Oh yes, and those beautiful birds...well, I could just go on and on!

Your table setting is simply gorgeous...love the pretty chargers and the dinner plates! Your entire table is just perfect!!! By the way, I couldn't help but notice your lovely dining room as well!

Warmest wishes,
Chari
