Pumpkin Patch?

Every year instead of decorating for Halloween, I decorate for fall.  This involves going down to Target and purchasing various sizes of pumpkins for the front yard.  I scatter them along the walk way and they stay there from the first week in Oct. to Thanksgiving when they are put away and the Christmas decorations come out.  Everyone with children in our neighborhood elaborately decorates for Halloween with scary monsters that make noise, many, many spiderwebs, lights, and even a Pirate ship with lightning and scary music (quite impressive).

I went out yesterday and noticed that someone had stolen some of my pumpkins!!!  Really? Of all the things layed out to entice would be thiefs, they took some pumpkins? Bob said it was probably teenagers that wanted to smash them.  So as I went on my various errands, I looked for evidence of wild teenagers out on a joy ride smashing pumpkins, wearing masks as they hid their identity, hooting and hollering.  They took big pumpkins too, so I would be sure to see the mess anywhere along the streets.   I didn't see anything.  Maybe they are saving the pumpkins for a planned joy ride later?  Well, all I can say is I hope those pumpkins are being enjoyed by a family who otherwise would not be able to purchase a pumpkin this year.  Do you think?
